Thoughts and expressions worth sharing. . .

Thoughts

I love to write! Anytime I have an experience that is beautiful, that  moves me and especially if I see it as an experience that leads to growth, I write about it.

Personal

These are thoughts about why I do what I do – my reasons and my rewards. My work brings light and life to my day. Although often times heavy, helping people to heal is my most gratifying gift.

Tools

Sharing life tools on my site enables me to educate people outside of session. Using this platform allows me to teach crucial skills to people around the world at the convenience of their homes.

We love working with Karla. She is the perfect blend of honesty, hilarity, and knowledge. One thing we have appreciated about Karla is that she sets us up for success so we can continue using the skills she teaches us throughout our marriage and not just during our sessions. An “internal capability build,” if you will. I haven’t been to many therapists where I look forward to our sessions, but we definitely do with Karla. Thanks for all you have done for us!!

Karla Chamberlain has impressed me with her knowledge, background, and skill. But her stubborn care for me and all of the people she works with is what is truly astounding. She’s gold. How am I supposed to capture her in a paragraph?

Karla taught me life skills I desperately needed that have now stuck with me for over three years! She listens, and she helps you change. I have loved Karla and would recommend her to anyone because she knows how to help people on their pathway to healing. She has definitely helped me on mine.

I have seen many therapists and I have to say Karla Chamberlain is the best one by far. She listens. She helps me see things in a different light. Everytime I see her I learn something new about myself. She gives homework that reinforces what we talked about in session. I know she cares about me as a person and not just a client. If you don’t think you’re getting what you need in therapy, I heartily recommend her. She is the best.

Not only does Karla listen for understanding, she allows me to get to my own epiphanies—she has never tried to draw a conclusion for me even if it may have been obvious to her. Above all, what I appreciate most about her is that she never offered unsolicited advice.

Come to Karla! She’s hilarious but also serious in times when needed. Truly cares for you and whatever situation you’re going through and very understanding. I had never been to a therapist before Karla but she made me feel so comfortable. I think she’s so insightful. If I could say one word that describes her from experiencing her as a therapist it would be charity.

My experience with Karla Chamberlain as a man who experiences same-sex attraction has helped me learn more about my sexual orientation and helped me realize that there is nothing wrong with experiencing the feelings that I do. In fact, with her help, I’ve come to see them as a blessing. She has been a candid, albeit compassionate proponent of helping me consider and pursue what lifestyle I want to live regardless of any cultural, religious, or familial pressures around me. She wants me to be happy. And because the path I desire to take involves striving to stay close to Jesus Christ, she has helped me learn new ways to rely on him: not by changing my sexual orientation, not by trying to smother it, but by embracing it as a beautiful part of what makes me, me. I am a gay/same-sex-attracted/same-gender-attracted son of God. And God is more than okay with that. And I’m more than okay with that. I’m grateful for it. I thank Karla for helping me see that more clearly.

Karla was a lifesaver when our family experienced major trauma. She gave us critical tools to use as we navigated the shock and pain of the initial days following an attack on our family. Then, she met with us as individuals and as a family several times over the next months to help us on the path of healing. She helped us value perspective and helped strengthen our communication. She has a kind, thoughtful, insightful, and direct way of helping us work through our individual needs. We were able to not only keep our family together after a trauma that destroys many relationships, but with her help we are now stronger and closer as a family.
